In the past year, after I finished my journey at one of the youth-led organizations, I initiated a project to build a non-formal school foundation in a rural area in Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia. It is with great pride and immense gratitude that I share the news of our recent achievement: receiving a generous grant of 370 Million Rupiah from Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia for our non-formal school foundation. This monumental accomplishment marks a significant step forward in our mission to provide quality education to underserved communities.

The Journey Begins

Our journey began with a vision — a vision of empowering people in rural areas who lacked access to formal education. Recognizing the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, we embarked on a mission to establish a non-formal school foundation that would serve as a beacon of hope for marginalized communities to help them so that they can continue their life of education to a better state and compete significantly with the others on the related field.

Overcoming Challenges

Building a non-formal school foundation from the ground up was no easy feat. I encountered numerous challenges along the way, from securing resources to overcoming all of the struggles that I never faced before because this was the first time I had worked with Indonesian-related government and administration after years of getting familiar with regulations from another country as I worked in a global-scale organization. However, fueled by our unwavering commitment to our cause, we persevered, undeterred by the obstacles that stood in our path.

A Beacon of Hope

Despite the challenges, our non-formal school foundation began to take shape, offering a glimmer of hope to people who had been deprived of educational opportunities. We have worked tirelessly to create a nurturing learning environment where every person can thrive and reach their full potential.

The journey to securing funding for our non-formal school foundation was long and arduous, but it was all worth it when we received the news of our grant approval from Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia that we got more than 350 Million Rupiah as our yearly grant starting from 2024! Not only that but we also received logistic support (TV, Computers, and Books) from Perpustakaan Indonesia (Indonesian National Library).

This significant milestone not only validates the importance of our work but also provides the resources needed to expand our reach and impact even more lives.

Looking Ahead

With the support of Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia and Perpustakaan Indonesia, and our future dedicated team of volunteers and educators that soon to be elected (watch out!), we are poised to make an even greater difference in the lives of people across our community. Together, we will continue to build a brighter future for many lives!

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia, and Perpustakaan Indonesia for their generous support and belief in our mission. This grant will enable us to further our efforts in providing quality education to underserved communities and empower children to realize their dreams.

As I reflect on this milestone achievement, let me be reminded of the transformative power of education and the impact it can have on the lives of people and communities. With determination, perseverance, and the support of organizations like Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Indonesia, and Perpustakaan Indonesia, we can create a brighter future for generations to come. Together, let us continue to strive for excellence and make a difference in the world through education!!!

Let surprise yourself, surprise the world and make it relevant!
